Celebrating Mothers in May

Month of May social media posts

We celebrate mothers by…

Pregnancy: …walking with them through their pregnancy, the ups, downs, and emotions that come along with this stage of motherhood. It can be beautiful but isn’t always easy, and we celebrate their incredible strength as they grow their baby and prepare for the adventure ahead. Our community-based doulas are invested in creating relationship and trust with each of their clients and offer a personalized, client-centered approach to care. They are present and committed to talking through options, processing past trauma, reducing stress and anxiety, and helping their clients feel as ready and empowered as they can be for labor and the birth of their baby.

Moms are amazing, and so is birth. Having a doula’s support is evidence-based, helping moms accomplish more with the right support. Our services and programs incorporate trauma-informed care and provide many benefits for the birthing mother, her baby and their family.

Labor: …supporting and cheering on our clients to have the kind of birth that is right for them! Our community-based doulas join their clients in the hospital once labor begins, champion these mothers’ inner strength as they move through one contraction at a time, use evidence-based techniques to bring comfort, and advocate for their wishes during the different stages of labor. They get a front row seat to witness the beauty and grit these women possess as they bring their babies into the world.

Postpartum: …watching and uplifting them to become competent and confident mothers! The journey into motherhood is one of joy and great responsibility, and comes with many emotions and sleepless nights. Our community-based doulas are there to encourage moms in their first hours postpartum through the first year, usually visiting clients in their own homes. From washing dishes, to listening to a mom talk about issues of any kind, or helping with breastfeeding, our compassionate doulas consider it an honor to give mothers the individualized support they need.
